Start your summer entertainment off with this year’s children’s performance of “Thaddeus and ‘Tila” (A Frog and Crane Tale) set June 18 through July 25 at Lone Star College-CyFair.
Thaddeus is a frog who dreams of flying. ‘Tila is a beautiful crane who yearns to swim. One day ‘Tila crashes into the marsh, Thaddeus helps save her from drowning. Of course, it is love at first sight, but the other marsh creatures don’t approve of the budding relationship.
Ron Jones, LSC-CyFair’s drama professor, directs this Jose Cruz Gonzalez story of profound kindness and humanity, as a frog and a crane, embark on a journey that earns them unconditional acceptance from their peers in the swamp.
Cast members for this first summer children’s production include: Alex Box as Thaddeus; Krystle Brunner as ‘Tila, Alex Eiley as Mos, the bully mosquito, Emily Prince as Sala, a slimy salamander and Louzee Banage as Birdie, an aging hummingbird.
Performances will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesdays through Fridays and at noon Saturdays in the Black Box Theatre located in the Center for the Arts on the Barker Cypress campus. There will be no shows June 21, July 19 and the week of July 4.
All tickets are $5 and group discounts are available.
