General
  • All Readers, hosted by writer Steve Gordon, ranks science fiction, mystery, romance, biography and history reviews.
  • Author Yellow Pages helps you find authors own pages.
  • Bookmarks Magazine lists selected reviews from its magazine.
  • BookBrowse is a commercial site edited by Davina Morgan-Witts. Although a subscription is needed for enhanced information, there are of reviews and a searchable database available.
  • Book Spot, produced by Startspot Mediaworks, has lots of links for many genres.
  • Morton Grove Public Library Readers' Services has links to a variety of reading sites.
  • Overbooked is a volunteer project of Ann Chambers Theis, Collection Management Administrator from Chesterfield County (VA) Public Library and includes annotated lists and review of nonfiction and fiction by genre.
  • Readers Read, produced by Writers Write, an Internet media firm, reviews a wide variety of books.
  • Reader's Robot from the Thompson Nicola Regional District Library System in Canada has a searchable database of over 7,000 reviews.
African American
Black Issues Book Review from Cox, Matthews, & Associates, Inc. (CMA) publishing company, has some reviews from the magazine.
Audio Books
  • AudioFile magazine has current and archived reviews.
  • Audible, an audio book store, has lots of reviews.
  • Audio Book Stand, an audio book store, sells audio books, including downloadable files.
Book Clubs
  • BookMovement has reviews and guides for book clubs.
  • Bookmuse, founded by Kristine Ball, a book group facilitator for six years in the San Francisco Bay Area has guides for clubs, as well as reviews.
  • Random House Reading Group Guides offers browse by category, title, or author option to locate guides.
  • Readers Club from the Public Library of Charlotte & Mecklenburg County (NC) features an online book club and RSS feeds of new reviews.
  • Reading Group Choices from Connxsys LLC allows you to search for books by topic, author, publisher, etc. and provides discussion questions for each book listed
  • Reading Group Guides, an Internet company founded by Carol Fitzgerald, offers online discussions about books as well as help in finding a book club.
Graphic Novels
Comics Worth Reading, hosted by Johanna Carlson, a reviewer for more than 10 years, is a blog about graphic novels.
Historical Fiction
Historical Novel Society which also publishes the Historical Novels Review lists forthcoming titles and books back to 2003.
Horror
  • Dark Echo, compiled by Paula Guran, a freelance horror writer, reviews new and old
  • Horror Writers Assocation has a list of award winners and best horror novels of all time.
Inspirational
Mystery/Thriller
  • ClueLass.com, compiled by Kate Derie, Assistant Editor of the Mystery Readers Journal, lists mystery writers conferences and review of upcoming books.
  • DorothyL is a discussion list for the lovers of the mystery genre concocted by a group of women librarians.
  • The Librarians Internet Index-Mysteries and More sponsored by Washington State Library and California Digital Library gives links to mystery book sites.
  • Mystery Ink has reviews, author interviews and lists of award winners. It is hosted by David J. Montgomery, a Washington, D.C.-based writer and book reviewer.
  • The Mystery Reader, edited by D.N. Anderson has news and review of mysteries.
  • Mystery Writers of America, a writers association, lists Edgar Award winners.
  • Palm Beach County Library System-Readers Advisory-Mysteries has links to other mystery sites.
  • Readers Room, a firm which promotes mystery authors, offers chats with authors as well as review and information on publishing.
  • Stop You're Killing Me (started by Bonny Brown, a mystery reader) allows searching for mysteries by character, location, or author.
  • Barry Awards from the editorial staff of Deadly Pleasures magazine lists winners.
  • Thrilling Detective is a magazine that focuses on noir/hardboiled detectives.
Romance
  • Affaire de Coeur is a magazine devoted to romance novels. Reviews are available online. 
  • The Beau Monde, from "a specialty chapter of the Romance Writers of America®, a community of Regency writers" offers the Regency Reader, a free e-mailed newsletter for anyone interested in Regency romances.
  • Romance Reader features news and reviews of romance novels edited by D.N. Anderson.
  • PNR Paranormal Romance provides reviews of fantasy and futuristic romance edited by Leslie Tramposch.
  • RITA Award Winners from The Romance Writers of America headquartered in Spring, TX lists titles that earned the "highest award of excellence in the genre of romance fiction."
Science Fiction/Fantasy
Westerns
Western Writers of America, a writers association, has a list of Spur Award winners from 1953 to the present.
